So here is how registration works at Eastern: There are five weeks of registration. The first week only Grad students and people on athletic teams can register. The second week they can still register, but then so can seniors. The next week juniors are added, then sophomores, then freshmen. That seems fine, BUT they do it in order of the last digit of your social security number, so if your social security number ends in an 8 or a 9, you will never be able to register during the first four days of your week. So since I am technically a sophomore, and my parents had to get me a social security number that ends in an 8, I did not get to register until today. And of course my schedule did not work out that way I had intended it (and why would it? That would make things too easy). For the first time in my college career I have an 8am class. AND it’s a writing class. BOO!!! But that actually worked out, because that was the only time they offered that class and I need it for my major, plus I need to take a writing intensive course every year that I am here and I hadn’t taken one yet this year. But still, boo!!! I do, however, find it a little disconcerting that the teacher is not listed on ratemyprofessors.com OR the MySpace professor ratings, so we will see how that goes. I also just realise that I will only have 28 hours at the end of next semester, which means I will still be a sophomore when it comes time to register for the Fall. Which means next Fall I will be taking 18 hours. Okay, I can do that. I will live. Also, I will be taking speech here, so I don’t need to worry about paying for it at CLC over the summer. I also don’t have to worry about taking any CLASSES at CLC over the summer! Hallelujah! Amen! Yeahbo!

  1. ucsd has registration like that except its random within the years. registering works out. the people that dont have a flexible schedule (3rd and 4th years) get the classes they need and the first years can always wait around to take the popular classes
