Rafael Espinosa, 25, 34 N. Prairie Ave., Mundelein, was arrested around 2 a.m. Dec. 23 at his home and charged with aggravated assault after he was accused of threatening to attack his 22-year-old brother with a butcher knife and threatening to kill a cat belonging to the brother’s 22-year-old girlfriend, police said. According to reports, Espinosa was intoxicated and, when he spilled chip dip on his pants, he grabbed to cat and used the cat’s face to wipe up the dip. His brother confronted him, reports added. Their parents woke up and separated the brothers, reports said. No one was injured, reports indicated. His Waukegan court date was set for Jan. 13.
